LETRAS

ALL-PURPOSE ROAD

tumblr_mg2nvqxIsq1qju1zko2_1280.jpg

81km-long Alto de Letras is one of the world’s longest paved climbs. Its ascent is one of fantastical dreams, beginning in sweltering jungle heat, and finishing in the near-freezing chill of the high-altitude páramo at 3800m. Featuring prominently in many editions of the national race of Colombia (la Vuelta), it’s a place where kings and queens are made - or broken.

Letras is our homage to Colombia’s tradition of producing the world’s best climbers. Our lightest frameset, it’s also the one we pick for most days on pavement. Using lithe Colombus Spirit tubing, the spry ride quality of the Letras is balanced by confident stiffness.

BUILDS & PRICING

“MENÚ DEL DÍA”

When rent needs to get paid, it doesn’t get better than this. Premium road cycling is all about diminishing returns, and RADNESS is all about value. This build centers on function. It might be a pound or three heavier than our top-tier builds, but it could still win a professional bike race. It can definitely get to the top of the hill with your friends. Or bring a giant smile to your face. And to be honest, the paint is all anyone outside of the coffee shop/bar/your living room gives a damn about, anyway. Speaking of, the paint and frame is the exact same as our hoity-toity builds (also, it’s totally bonkers Colombian). We handpicked this build as one we’d happily ride and race every day, dependably.

$3500 (RIM BRAKES) / $4000 (DISC BRAKES)

  • Custom geometry and paint

  • Shimano 105 11sp Drivetrain / Brakeset (Short-reach levers for smaller hands, hydraulic brakes for disc)

  • Vittoria Corsa G+ TLR tires

  • fi’zi:k R5 Cockpit (Stem/Handlebar/Seatpost, custom spec’d)

“PICADA”

Oh, look at you. You’ve made it. You’ve paid off your student loans. Yes, we’re jealous. This is like RADNESS, but slightly…radder? As in, it’s lighter. It’s shinier. More carbon parts. You’ll get to the top of the hill a bit quicker. And everyone will know your Econ undergrad degree is paid off. Custom geometry, custom paint come standard, per usual. Yew!

Cleanliness is king, as all shift cable stops are eliminated, and disc bike bikes feature internal brake routing. All the snazzy bits without completely shattering the budget.

“BANDEJA PAISA”

Top-shelf. The ‘98 Dom. A tomahawk steak. You know, the good stuff. Meet our no-holds-barred build. Yes, it weighs the least. Yes, we can get weird with it. SRAM Red AXS wireless shifting is standard, along with Alto’s standby carbon wheels. fi’zi:k’s 00 cockpit rounds it out, shaving as many grams as possible without compromising functionality (or form, for that matter). Rotor’s ALDHU crank receives an INSpider powermeter upgrade, and ceramic bearing upgrades are available throughout for an upcharge. And if you ask nicely, maybe even some titanium spokes.

$7300 (RIM BRAKES) / $8100 (DISC BRAKES)
